Hello there I'm new to blacksmithing and have been a member of this list for
a while. There is a lot of info here. Thanks guys.
The fire piston sounds interesting. Glow plugs are in diesel engines to warm
up the cylinder on very cold days. In the 10 years I drove a truck I used
them maybe a half a dozen times and that was when I just started driving and
was in an older truck. I've been out of trucking for a few years but I'm not
sure that a lot of the diesel engines even come with glow plugs anymore.
Anyhow I believe this fire piston is well within the realm of possibility,
just take some dried wood shavings and light them with a match then light
some diesel with a match also. I bet the wood lights easier.

This stuff is very interesting I am interested in blacksmithing techniques
form 100 or so years ago, what are some places I could get info on this. Any
information would be appreciated.

Fred Warner
