Go over to anvilfire.com and look in all the nooks and crannies.
There are low cost approaches there in a variety of styles. A
fair part of a blacksmithing education can be found there.
Look up the nearest ABANA affiliate and attend a conference. At
the conference there will probably be anvils and forges and vises
at reasonable prices at the tailgate sales. It is also the way to
learn the most the quickest and cheapest.
A forge can be rather small and do just fine at this stage.
Anvilfire has plans for a coal forge made from a tire rim, for
example. Even a hole in the ground with some way to force air
into it works....Pete F
