That's about right. And don't pass up an anvil with the heel or horn
broken off if as much as a third of it's face is fairly good and it's
real cheap or free.

When I started, I lucked onto a hand-cranked rivet forge and
reasonably good (ca. 180#) anvil from a junk dealer.  I had 3# and 1#
hammers, 4" machinist's vice and one pair of tongs.

Since I was working as a mechanic, I had a pretty good set of
mechanic's tools that included a file :-) , some cold chisels,
hacksaw, Vice-Grips and so on.  But for forging, just forge, anvil, 2
hammers, 1 pair tongs and a vise.  That was enough to snare me into
the craft for good.
