ESAB recommends E8018-C3...never tried it, but I'm pretty sure I've seen that rod referenced for Corten before.

If you have thicker material that requires multi-pass welds, you can fill with 7018, then cover with the higher dollar 8018-C3 for color matching.  Hope this helps.

Hey People,

Probably an old question but here goes.

I am working on confirming a good stick or MIG filler for welding a large scale corten sign for a client. They do not want the seams to be blatanly obvious.

Once assembled we are looking at bead blasting the entire surface to attempt to get as uniform as possible patina. 

Recommendations on spec for rod or wire??
