[TheForge] Fuel selection

I'm in the same situation living in Japan. They won't even let the common
man burn coal due to their emissions standards.
What I use is wood charcoal sold in the local market, but have gotten
desperate and used whatever is around, tree branches, 2X4's etc. I just
heap it on. I've gone through quite some forge designs. Double lined packed
with catalytic converter beads, hooded, made with fire clay...anything to
keep the heat in. I would recommend if you use wood charcoal, try and build
your forge with a somewhat round bottom to allow the coals to pile in the
middle. I tried making charcoal from wood once...forgot to leave vent holes
and blew the lid of a 5 gallon can down the street!
What kind of Traditional Irish fiddle do they play where you're from? I've
been playing for about 12 years now and would love more than anything to
mountain bike across Ireland and visit Claire, Donegal, Kerry, etc...the
fiddlers that have come from these areas have really set a standard!

George,
I dont know how scarce coal is where you are at but Bituminous coal is
great easy to start and Cokes nicely. Coke is harder to start but hot
quicker in my opinion

Time enough for sleep in the grave.
"Prometheus: I took from man expectancy of death.

malady?
Prometheus: I planted blind hope in the heart of
him.
Chorus: A mighty boon thou gavest there to man.
Prometheus: Moreover, I conferred the gift of fire
Chorus: And have frail mortals now the flame-
bright fire.
Prometheus: yes, and shall master many arts
