Alix, According to my gas man: Take out the valve, wash the tank thoroughly;
fill almost to the top w/water & cut out the top. As the water goes down,
cut the hole bigger. That way you don't have enough confined space to create
an explosion because the water displaces the fuel/air mixture.

Subject: RE: [TheForge] Gas Forge Plans
Hi,
In line with Bruce's comment about finding a metal 5 gallon bucket...I
salvaged two large RV propane bottles that were thrown away because they had
the old connections on them. I was planning to use one of them for the
forge body.
So, any suggestions, cautionary tales, etc about opening and cutting one of
those babies?
Thanks,
Alix
