Inconel 718 will most likely work, Inconel 740 would definitely work  
but much harder to find so would Nimonic 90. None of them are cheap  
or easy to find but I have had good luck finding Inconel 718 from  
High Temp Metals http://www.hightempmetals.com at prices that are not  
too horrible. You can get data sheets on these alloys at http:// 
www.specialmetals.com/ Special Metals is a primary producer of these  
alloys and will want to sell you a huge amount but there is good data  
available on their website. you will want to build up agood oxide  
layer on the surface of these metals before using them as a punch.  
That oxide layer will keep your steel from sticking to it, also a  
coating of boron nitride as a lubricant will help.
