I'm interested in lighting also, but my ceiling will only be 10 to 12 ft.
high. It doesn't sound like T5 would work in that situation. Any
suggestions for low ceilings?

Me too. I've discovered alittle bit of info on the web about T 5 fixtures
and fluorescent tubes that render true colors etc. Compared with metal
halides the energy usage and cost savings look significant. The
tri-phosphorus and better tubes are a bit pricey at $10 to12 apiece, but I
think the quality of light will be worth it. The fixtures come with
electronic ballasts so I don't think low temperature will be a factor
although I'm not sure.
