Mike,
I'm not a professional writer, but I do a lot or writing in my profession.  I also edit the writing of other professionals.  In general I prefer clear and direct writing for professional communication and more creative and metaphoric writing for literature.

Okay, I'll promote it.  The book is well researched, well written,
practical, and very informative.  And, it's not that expensive.  Regardless
of what burner design you finally settle on, this book will help you
understand how they work and what the trade-offs are.
