Chuck,
You read into my response more than was there.
I feel very bad for all affected by Katrina and I believe what you've
written about conditions and reporting. The question I was responding to
dealt with rebuilding in obvious, very high risk areas such as the below sea
level areas in N.O. or river flood plain areas.
For the rest of the U S, we can best serve the victims of Katrina by keeping
up the pressure on our National Gov. to make some meaningful progress in
helping all affected. I don't see that happening.

About 80,000 homes were completely destroyed and over 300,000 were severely
damaged.
Many of the gulf coast people believe that the rest of the U S feels like
Walt does, and has all ready written them off.
