Too bad you didn't grow up around here Bruce, there were plenty of
jobs for us kids during the summer, cleaning chicken coops, moving
irrigation pipe, picking potatoes, stacking hay bales in the hot airless
barn loft, milking cows, cutting fire wood. You missed all the fun.

Yeah, it's not making 12-16-yr olds work that's the problem. It's making
them work instead of getting an education that's the problem.
When I was a teenager in suburban So. CA, I wished I could get a job. It
was nearly impossible then. The system worked against it. I was bored
silly. Would have loved a job in the summer.

Just a thought, but when we used to have 12 to 16 year old kids working we
didn't have the juvenile delinquent problem that we have today.
