You should remind this fellow that, while that particular apple jack may
be precious, apple jack in general is a RENEWABLE RESOURCE! There's a
fresh crop of apples every year, so lots of potential...

BTW, Laird's apple jack, originally hailing from a few miles from my
home in NJ, is smoothe like the best whiskey, but packs a whallop the
next day. I haven't confirmed it yet, but I think the problem is in the
low nitrogen content of apples. Brew up your apples with some added
"yeast nutrient" and I suspect the hang-over will be less.

Aaah! Reminds me of the jug of applejack a friend brings out for
tasting on his daughter's birthday each year. He found the jug, still
sealed, in the attic of his great grandfathers house in Cleveland.
The jug is marked with the name of a hardware store that, according
to the local historical society, went out of business in 1830 or so...
just a tiny drop in the mouth fills you with pure apple flavor. He
doesn't give out much, that's all there is... but it's like heaven.
Tastes so good, you don't notice the kick, but it's there.
