[TheForge] When is a shield not a mask?

Greetings,
I just can't imagine stick welding without a filter lens of some sort. I'm
not a doctor obviously but having flashed myself enough times to be overly
cautious as a rule, I can't buy that these people wouldn't do irreparable
harm to their eyes. Without a shield maybe, I've burned enough skin to
acknowledge that.
Regards,
Bill Woolley
