I had a problem with a Lincoln that I borrowed where
the wire would not feed or would stutter. it was a 125.
What I found out was the wing nut would tighten as I used
it and would lock down the spool. There was a key slot in
the spool stud, so I took some wire bent it around the wing
nut the took both ends of the wire and pushed it in the
key slot. This kept the wing nut from tightening. May or
may not be your problem.
Good luck
