will do so.  The following is a transcription of much
of the announcement.  The location of this is in the
NW corner of NJ, very close to PA and NY.  For further

Iron Smelt and Pig Iron Fest
A full weekend of events!

Smelt: Oct. 7-9, 2006 (Columbus Day weekend)
6th Annual Pig Iron Fest:  Sat., Oct. 7 (starting 1
pm)(The 3rd annual Early Iron Symposium's venu has
changed from Cooperstown to Peters Valley.)

The first 30 PREREGISTERED smelt attendees (@
$250/person) will participate with the team in
building and firing a small clay bloomery furnace
throughout the weekend.  Food and campus lodging will
be provided for these 30 attendees as well.

The GENERAL PUBLIC is invited to attend the Pig  Iron
Fest and any smelt activities (nonparticipatory) for
$30/day per person.  Check our website for a complete
list of the weenend's activities that will include
artist demonstrations, live music, lectures, good
food, an auction, tool sale and much more! 
Preregistration is encouraged.

SPECIAL GALLERY EXHIBIT: Sept 9 - Oct. 9
>From Sept. 9 to Oct 9, the Peters Valley Gallery will
host an exhibition titled "Iron Works," showcasing
works by contemporary artists using iron as their 
primary media [sic].  The opening will coniside
withthe weekend Iron Smelt & Pig Iron Fest.
