[TheForge] 1/2" electric hand drill

Pete,
I mostly agree with your premise as an exercise in common sense for the
hobbyist, and would also add that, since I started using cheap ugly looking
Harbor Freight tools, theft has been much less of a problem. But, the
premise has very large exceptions when it comes to hand tools. Someone doing
a job out of the country for instance, or in places that are a lot of work
to reach within the country, would only care about performance and
dependability.

Rick:
There's a dichotomy between tools you can find in Homedepot and
industrial tools. Homedepott gets you the most tool for your
money, in the short term. If you buy an expensive industrial
tool, it may cost twice as much or more, but last you the rest of
your life. The one that lasts you the rest of your life will
become useless, not because it dies, but because it is hopelessly
outdated.
I an hopelessly outdated, but i still work sometimes...Pete F
