I think anvil ringing is a more important subject even than bounce-back for
urban smiths who have close neighbors. The subject is quite interesting to
me. I'd like to know more about that aluminum anvil with the steel plate;
explosive welded bimetal or what?

When I said that I was under the impression my Sodorfors was cast iron and a
painfully loud ringer. This morning I find out it's cast steel. So, what I
thought was an exception turns out not to be and I'm not so mystified
anymore.
I'm still not going to start producing a line of anvils, I wear ear
protection regardless (usually) so am still not going to do much research on
it. <grin>

If it ain't forged
it ain't real.
Wrought iron is.
