Well, yeah, Phlip, I think you're right. Did you look at the second
drawing I uploaded, with the hook and saddle to the bottom left of the
pic? A 3 dimensional s-hook would work too...much simpler, but not as
simple at the pair of rods with eyes at the top. That's the best
answer, I think.

My design specs were to have everything fold into a nice cylindrical
bundle. I am thinking of a setup that's maybe 5' tall at the top and 6'
or better across, able to support an iron pot that would feed a whole
camp.
