Yeah, what he said...
We're still thinking in terms of one solution that will fix things for
everybody, whether it's nuclear generation or Mideast oil or renewable
sources.
Biodiesel production is an example of localized solutions to problems.
Kind of like genetic diversity: the more solutions we have, the less we
have to depend on one structure.
There are a lot of reasons that big oil hasn't embraced biodiesel- one
is that the lawyers are still trying to figure out how the
liability/warranty thing will shake down. VW, for instance, will only
accept a 5% blend. Not because there's a problem, but my guess is that
the lawyers want to have a plan if something comes up.
