Well, the one guy I know who personally did it for a 150# anvil welded a
H-frame around the anvil's waist.

He and 3 other people used a 12' diameter horse watering pool to quench
it. 35#s per person isn't toooo bad. Plus the legs of the H were long
enough that even if everybody let go, it wouldn't fall to the bottom of
the pool, but hang suspended in the water.
