Well, Justin, it could be done, but probably not in a back yard smithy. 200
+ lbs of steel is an awful lot of thermal mass, and you'd need an awful lot
of water to cool it quickly- the ones I've heard of that have done this have
used active flowing streams and firehoses.
The thing that gave me the biggest giggle, is the image of you trying to
stir a 200+ lb anvil around in a slack tub- makes my back hurt, to think of
it ;-)
