Why not, explain your constraints. (I don't own the building for example)
Soil is important but you can deal with things without getting to bed rock.
Just what is your ground like ? The biggest thing you can do is mass
directly below the anvil of the hammer. The closer to the center line of
the hammer the better.
Got a "old" Machinery Handbook -- they discuss power hammer foundations.
