Hello Michael:
Neat. I started doing that faire in the late 60s...I think the 3rd or
4th one. It was kind to me and fed us when i was just starting out.
It was a schitzo life though...work iron and fire in near isolation for
6 months, then take all the stuff to the faire, set up and camp out and
field 10000 + people a day till my eyeballs moved independantly. Sure
was pleased when i had enough commissions coming in to quit! But then
I've never liked people enough to keep it from being a hell of a lot of
work.
The way I rationalized my torch/forge in a period setting was to drape
the tanks and hoses with leather and claim they were dragon guts.
The old site off Malibu cyn was pretty nice...there was even some
wrought iron to scrounge.
Hope all goes smoothly and well and the public just has to own
everything you have to sell to them.....PF
