I would and have, see my other post.  The dies used on the Big Blu, are all 
S7 and heat treated.  S7 is a 3.5 percent chrome, while H13 is 5 percent. 
S7 is tougher and therefore makes a little better die, but I not sure you 
can tell the difference from H13.  I of course would be happy with 4140 or 
4340 for hammer dies.

On reason to heat treat the H13 is that it treats the weld area as well as 
the working surface of the die.

Most likely as per Dan's experience you can also get away with just welding 
them up.
