OK, thanks. Baling wire had been my first choice, followed by rebar wire,
but couldn't find baling wire at the local Agway (apparently they bale with
twine around here), and Home Despot isn't selling much in the way of
construction supplies any more.
I did find a source of some stainless steel wire, temporarily, as well as an
online source for later, if I decide that I'm really into making damascus,
so I'm set for the moment, but I'm very curious as to exactly what's on the
stove pipe wire, that has California all up in arms ;-)
