Walt,

The band iI was thinking of would be kind of like the band on the hub of an
old wagon wheel.  The ring would be attached to the band and the band could
then be driven onto a post.

I like the idea of the decorated escution and will suggest that to the
customer. There won't actually be horses using this, it's just to complete
the look of a historic building, which by the way at one time was a
blacksmith shop, and then an antique store, and now a realestate office.
