Interestingly enough, Ryobi is the company that now owns Milwaukee.
Ryobi was spun off its Japanese parent company, and is now a Hong Kong
owned conglomerate. I believe they also own Rigid, but I could be wrong
about that.
I have some very good older milwaukee tools, but they have been
slacking off for some years now- I had an old Milwaukee rotohammer that
served well for over 20 years. About 5 years ago, it broke, and I sent
it to Milwaukee for repairs- they said parts were no longer available,
buy a new one.
Which I did, having no choice and needing the tool. And the new
milwaukee, a Hawk, is a much better tool than the old one,
functionally. It works better, and quicker, and is lighter. On the
downside, where the old one was mostly metal, the new one is almost all
plastic.
