The WD-40 doesn't seem so bad.  DMSO is bad news,  that's why I was
concerned that it might be in WD-40.

WD or DMSO?  DMSO definitely will dessicate your skin in short order.
And you get an odd, not-horrible-but-not-pleasant taste in your mouth
when it's in your system.  Semi-metallic/semi-sulfur weirdness.
