Andy, I had the same thing, muscle-tension tinnitus. Had it for years.
It comes from sitting at monitors, slumped down with hour head back to
look at the screen. I quit coding and it went away in a few months.
Have to think that after a while it would become permanent but that's
just maybe from hearing people tell me that if you cross your eyes
they'd stay that way....Situps and other core-strength exercises help
too by improving posture.
