[TheForge] Hearing aids

Dan,

I wear protection at the power hammer, the hudrolic press, when using the
chop saw, and the grinders. Not when drilling or at the anvil.

I've got a big magnet on the anvil which cuts most of the ring.

BTW; I have hearing loss in a very spicific high frequency from when I
worked in telcom. When trouble shooting a site with private microwave, we
would use a side band to talk to each other when the switch was down. Every
now and then it would give you a shot of loud high frequency noise, really
did a number on my hearing in that range. I tuned pianos for a while but
couldn't hear the top octive, had to use a meter.

I dont use ear protection when just at the anvil...only with the power
hammer. Maybe that should change. Do most of youse use them all the time
when
hammering?

Again, thanks for the helpful notes.
