Actually, two questions:
    1.  I seem to have something in my machine that Ad-Aware, SpyBot and
Trend-Micro's housecall cannot root out.  This something causes my IE
"connect to" window to pop up spontaneously, a lot.  If I'm away from my
machine for 3 hours or so I will have 3 or 4 of these windows stacked on
top of each other, requiring me to exit each one.  There does not seem
to be anything in my control panel or options that will allow me to
change this and it just started happening recently.  Seems like there is
some bot in my machine that wants me to go online...

    2. Disk Defragmenter, when I try to run this feature it never goes
beyond a flickering 1%, will sit there for an hour doing churning noises
in my cpu.  If I go into settings and turn off "check disk for errors"
and run Defrag. by itself, it goes to 8%, displays "drive's contents
changed, restarting" and goes up to 8%, et cetra...

Thanks for any input you might have about these problems.
