It all depends on how you want to use the forge. The blade people like
the even heat that an angled burner, and the resulting swirl, helps
with.
I, though, like the hot spot. It's not as good as a coal forge's hot
spot, but it speeds things up if you're doing basic forging. You don't
need to wait for the whole piece to heat up. If I want the whole thing
hot, such as for twists, I just leave it in longer. The hot spot doesn't
seem to get hotter than the rest, it just gets hot quicker.
