[TheForge] Merry Christmas everybody!

May everybody have a very Merry Christmas.

I got my new computer yesterday and after a number of hours I managed to get
my old E-mail folders, addressbook, bookmarks and such transferred to the
new one and am back up and running.

There are of course a bunch of things I have to get straightened out but the
important things are functioning. I have to say my last comp was the last
3rd party comp I ever get. It was a HP and conflicts between HP's OS and XP
lead to incredibly crappy performance. It was also pretty much a waste of
money and time trying to upgrade it. The motherboard was maxxed out of the
box with only a little room to up the RAM, turd of a CD/RW, heck even the
3.5" floppy drive was crap.

This one's not a real hotrod but all the components are tried, stable and
reliable with lots of room to upgrade. I'm now running a 2 gig. 64 bit
Athalon with 512 meg of RAM and room to run 2gig of RAM. Heck, the onboard
video is faster than the old HP was on it's best day.

Best of all?

It doesn't come off my Christmas presents!

Deb's darned near perfect.

I am SO lucky.

May all of you be as lucky in the new year.
