Hiya back Wombat:

I'm familiar with Mokume Gane, Deb and I have wedding rings made by Jim
Binnion. I've even played with making a little.

Do NOT put silver and brass against each other, you'll get silver solder in a
puddle on the furnace floor. Copper silver mokume is very nice, good contrast
and not too finicky to make.

If you want to see some really extraordinary combinations, surf around Jim's
site, he's combined things like copper and iron successfully and, I think,
maybe gold and iron but I could be misremembering that one.

Jim's good folk and hangs out in the Artmetal Sandbox and other lists.
