Good for you Aubrey, I'd say it's a move in the right direction but still more 
information than I need or want. <grin>

I've never welded cast with gas so I have no input or opinion. What I have 
used is 92% or better nickle rod, Welco-92 for instance, as a minimum. Grind, 
scarf, clean, clamp, preheat, stitch, fill, ping and relieve, post heat and 
slow cool. I've had pretty good success when I was meticulous about following 
the steps.
