Jer,

The H13 I don't quench. Just air cool. I do use soybean oil for 
quenching the scaling chisels that I sharpen for a foundry. Maybe 
that's what you remember?

If it's round it's probably H13. If it's square it's probably a piece 
of one of the foundries chisel (S5). Either one makes a good chisel but 
the H13 will take more heat.
