Small world.  15 years ago, I used to have spirit lake in my weekly route 
for  real estate mortgage loans .

Our old farm is  about  60 miles East of  Spirit Lake and a few miles North 
of  old highway  9.

I drained the slack tub today, as  I plan a road trip tomorrow and temps 
may  dip to sub zero tonight.
I have a steel bucket  filled with used  french fry  cooking grease 
...  When temps get cold that works as a pretty good quench..  I really 
like the smell of  hot steel in the  cooking grease.

I don't get wild  with the hammering on my anvil when it is super cold.  A 
hot piece of steel warms it up  some, and I have some of those 
magnetic  "electric block heaters"  that  help take the chill out of it.
