 Greetings All,

The 9th Annual Saltfork Craftsmen ABA Blacksmithing Conference will be held in Perry, Oklahoma on October 15-16, 2005 at the Noble County Fairgrounds. We have two great demonstrators lined up, Peter Happny and Brian Gilbert, who will have plenty to teach smiths of all skill levels from the aspiring novice, to the weekend manglers (like myself), to the professionals among us. These professional demonstrations are open to paid attendees only.

In addition to the professional demonstrators, this year we have the best line-up of Family Classes ever. Back by popular demand is John Burns teaching Enamel Bead Making. Also back this year, with expanded offerings, is the Oklahoma Lace Guild. The Lace Guild will be offering two classes teaching Bobbin Lace Making and Basic Tatting. New for this year will be Susan Allen and her "Iron Gate" Project (that's a steam iron she tells me). Also new this year is Sherill Carothers teaching a Toothbrush Rug Workshop.

Other fun activities include an Auction on Saturday evening, iron-in-the-hat, free space for tailgate sales, a gallery displaying work of Saltfork members, and free public demos by Saltfork members. As always there is conference t-shit with a new design which you can see on the web site http://www.saltforkcraftsmen.org/ <http://www.saltforkcraftsmen.org/> . This year the t-shirt is the same price regardless of size.

Please send in your registration as soon as possible! A tremendous amount of planning has gone into this year's conference. But, there is still a lot of work left to do, and much of that depends on you getting your registration in soon. We need to know how many meals to order, how many and what sizes of t-shirts, and the Family Class instructors need to know what supplies to have on hand. I also need to print up name tags, meal tickets, etc., etc. Please help us out and register soon. The registration form is available on our web site http://www.saltforkcraftsmen.org/ <http://www.saltforkcraftsmen.org/> just by following the links.

This is a great chance to swap lies with blacksmiths from Oklahoma and many neighboring states. Thanks, and I'll see you soon in Perry!
