Bob,
ITC-100 will improve the amount of radiant heat reflected from the
interior surfaces of the forge. This will help the forge run hotter and
conserve fuel. It can be used on cast able refractory, fire brick, ram
able refractory, as well as ceramic fiber. ITC-100 is more expensive
then the other coatings mentioned, but performs better at higher
temperatures. It pays for itself in short order in fuel savings alone,
not to mention the extended refractory life. We like it so much, we
include ITC-100 with all of our forge kits.
