I fear you are exactly right, frosty. It appears my expectations regarding  a 
rapid and inexpensive solution to getting these bowls were too high. I will  
continue to pursue a pressing or spinning process, however. Maybe I can find a 
 metalspinner who already has an 8" mandrel.  By the way, regarding the  
metalspinning site you recommended...do you have to be a Yahoo user to get on  it? 
Everywhere I went it looked like I had to sign up for Yahoo.
