Ralph, Jerry & Peter, Thanks for your info on running 7018. This welder is an old machine, made by AO Smith in Milwaukee in the 60's. I inherited it and have not used it much. But when I have, with 6013 rod, it has worked fine. I have assumed it is a DC machine but will check inside for diodes. And I know I've seem that old owner's manual around somewhere. -Rick
