The scam is that the "certified check" is fake.  A very good fake but fake 
none the less.  Banks bounce it once you deposit it.  You ship you item --  
you get nothing in return and most likely have already paid the shipping 
cost.  If you wired the additional money you are out that too -- since the 
cashing location comes back after you -- they know who you are and where you 
live.

Remember anything that seems too good to be true -- is just that too good to 
be true.

The above, and more like it is one reason I will not buy or sell via eBay.
