I gotta admit, I am intrigued by some of the stuff these germans sell-
somebody really ought to try to order from them, and see what is
involved, in terms of price, time, shipping costs, customs, etc.
Because they seem to have lots of those holy grail items we all wish
were available here.
I have imported some stuff from germany myself, and it aint easy or
cheap.

One thing we might do is call Steve Kayne, at what is now called
Blacksmith Depot, and ask him to stock some of this stuff- he seems
really responsive and available, and he already imports a lot of
blacksmith tools from europe.
So if there are particular things the germans have that you dream of,
email Kaynes and tell em- I am sure if they get enough interest, they
will at least try to get some of this stuff.

For those of you who havent looked yet, its worth downloading the pdf
catalog of blacksmithing tools from www.angele.de, which is a german
blacksmith supply company.
They have some nifty stuff you cant get here, like the aforementioned
pure iron, in sheet and bar form, foot treadle powered forges, and lots
of other cool stuff.
