Andy,

Do you make it to the mainland often?  North of Seattle out by Bothell is a
small community called Clearview.  There is a great scrap yard there called
Whitesides.  They always have a couple if not up to a dozen shop layout tables
out in their yard.  I bought a 4' by 7' that was 1" thick for scrap price,
cannot remember but I think it was something like 38 cents a pound way back
then.  I love it,  I can rivet on it and hammer away pretty much as if it were
a platen table,  which they also had 2 of those.

Also there are three different yards in downtown Seattle,  they are all in that
vicinity just West of Alaska Copper & Brass off of 6th I believe.  There is
also supposed to be a good yard in the Everett area but not sure where, I have
never been there, maybe someone else knows the name and location and will share
it with us.
