I find them quite useful, both for making hoy dog forks, as a kid's project, 
as well as using them for other things requiring small stock- notably, the US 
Cavalry style collapsible grill someone here turned me onto. In fact, I'll 
take all somebody will give me, and make a point of going sign scrounging. 
Avoid the ones with the galvanized coatings, though- it's hard to get off- 
not worth the effort, and it isn't food safe.
