One of the MD groups, MASA I think, has a waiver attached to their
applications for their demos. Unfortunately, MASA lacks a website. See
if you can flag Ken Zastrow or Don Plummer. They may have that text
handy. (I may come across it yet, but don't have it here.)
Be aware that all a liability waiver does for you is to force the
person or her parents to acknowledge the danger. It in no way
eliminates liability for REAL negligence on your part.
If you just want to see what a liability waiver might look like, go to
sierraclub.org and search on "liability waiver". They have a bunch of
them relevant to outdoor activities.

I have been asked to teach a young woman who wants to
learn basic blacksmithing as an extracurricular
project for school. I have spoken with her parents
about the "inherent dangers of blacksmithing" which we
all know can be managed. I am exclusively a "hand
smith" (no power tools - yet) so the dangers are
reduced somewhat. I do not want to get involved in any
regulatory issues for my smithy to make it a student
or apprentice fit place.
The parents have agreed to sign a waiver,
acknowledging the dangers. Any suggestions?
Anyone have a sample waiver wording I could borrow?
