Ok, Murph, I'm painted into a corner- Help! Justin said his blown forge is
"Pretty quiet", but he did say *small* blower...I think the roar is the
burning gasses coming out of the chamber so wall thickness shouldn't be a
factor....??? Also, would a 3 burner manifold have anything to do with the
noise level?

My homebuilt blown forge (mankel 3-burner manifold with a small
squirrel cage blower) is pretty quiet actually, through no good
planning of my own. It's got thick walls, 2 1/2" of 2800 degree fire
brick and castable doors the same thickness. Maybe that's what muffles
it. I run it at 3-4 lb gas and the air comes through a 6" flex hose
about 3' long. Dunno.
