best one that you can build right now, and start forging, then refine it as
you go. I was afraid to make my propane forge for fear of messing it up.
Once I made it, I found that it was much simpler and less scary than I had
believed, now I am in the middle of making my 3rd propane forge and loving
it.

Agreed. As it turns out, it's best to work on one for a bit before you
decide you want a bunch of bells and whistles. You may discover that you
don't need some stuff, that a aprticular simplified system might suit you
working style better than the fancy one. As an example, I work outside under
a canopy, and have absolutely no need for a hood. Bottom draft works just
fine, and I designed me forge so I can move it easily- about an hour to tear
down or set up, two hours or so for my entire set up. A hood would just be
more bulk and annoyance.

If it walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, it is probably not a
cat.

Never a horse that cain't be rode,
And never a rider who cain't be throwed....
