     While I appreciate doing things right, might I suggest you build the 
best one that you can build right now, and start forging, then refine it as 
you go.  I was afraid to make my propane forge for fear of messing it up. 
Once I made it, I found that it was much simpler and less scary than I had 
believed, now I am in the middle of making my 3rd propane forge and loving 
it.
