Mike,
	The best thing to do would be to go to your welding supply dealer
get 40 feet of welding cable and quick connects and you would have no
worries. An extension cord will loose more power than longer cables.

First thing I did when I got my welder was change the plug end to a twist
lock to match the end on the 50ft welders extension cable that I have. All
of the ends (extension/welder/plug on the wall) are twist lock...
